Prayer Thoughts for Wednesday 17th December 2025
Let us remember, and give thanks for those who have given their strength, talents and time in the service of God. We prayerfully give thanks also for wise counsel and guidance over the years.
Where there is difficulty or failure, HE IS HOPE. Where there is hurt and pain, HE IS HEALING. Where there is love, HE IS THERE.
Thanks be to God.

Caring God, we bring before you in prayer all in our community. At this special time of Advent we think of any who may be alone or have difficult circumstances. We pray especially for those who suffer from dementia, the families, friends and volunteers who care in many loving ways. We ask your blessing on each one.

We give grateful thanks to all who guard our land, who have been injured or have sacrificed their lives for us as we continue to pray for peace in our world.

God of creation, we can anticipate the glory of all that the month of October brings. Crisp days with vivid blue skies and sunshine. Times of strong winds as the trees begin to change. We also will have rain, perhaps heavy, where we shall be happy to be indoors. We simply give You prayerful thanks for our changing seasons.

Loving Lord Jesus, You know what true temptation means and, like us, You struggled with doubts and fear. Help us at such times to notice the things that really matter and give us hope for the future.

Caring God, we bring before You in prayer our troubled world. We feel great sadness for so many people and countries throughout the world. We think of the fear of children and little ones who feel so completely alone, as we are aware of the tragic devastation to their homes. Loving God, we ask that all in distress may be conscious of Your constant presence and love in their despair.

God of Care and Compassion,
As we bring our prayers for others to You once more, we are aware of a ceasefire in the Middle East. At this time we remember how life has been for many involved in the total, tragic carnage over fifteen months. We remember them and those injured or who have lost their lives. We pray for all held hostage.
